Picking up after the hag deal, the party returned to Fort Goblin and immediately had to manage the fallout of enslaving Darlene the baker — Adora misdirected her grieving husband Alfred toward the fairy circle rather than admit the truth. The town entered a serious infrastructure push: Steve ran survival classes, Jack conducted a census, Gearforge fumbled forge construction, and Azadeen lifted morale with a persuasion roll of 21. A traveling Nephilim merchant named Joshua arrived with trade goods, maps, and news of King Marduk's citizenship decree, allowing the party to sell off their loot hoard for nearly 3,000 gold and kick-start the economy. On the road to a diplomatic feast in Bagrest, the party was shaken down by the Black Fox's bandits for 30 gold before making camp, where three direwolves ambushed them in the dark — Gearforge's tridrones obliterated one in a single turn, Adora's Dissonant Whispers sent another fleeing, and Steve finished the last wolf while invisible. The session closed with the party looting two treasure chests from the roadside and preparing to enter Bagrest.
