The party welcomed Oak Bearsweat, Fridge's druidic mentor, outside the gates of Golden Throne after he tracked his fallen student to Port Nyanzaru and learned of his death from dinosaur handler Tariki. The group then secured guide Eku at Golden Throne, paying her 150 gold upfront for one month of service before she agreed to lead them south toward the Peaks of Flame. The session's centerpiece was the city-wide dinosaur race: Dahc rode the T-Rex Deadly Treasure to a hard-fought first-place finish, Bob on Momo took second, and Oak was bucked from Nasty Boy mid-race after a failed lash attempt. After the race, a dying Goliath collapsed on Bob and telepathically delivered a cryptic message — 'speak to the wise guardian of Orlonga, east of Ambala' — before succumbing to the death curse. The session closed with the party planning their river route south via the Soshenstar to Camp Righteous, with Eku set to lead them out of the city that evening.
