Darren Falls, King Rises, Obarn Takes the Throne

“Under the blood-red Sanguine Eclipse, the party battled a nail-studded Clav Effects and a swarm of Sangu Vermis worm-zombies at the city wall underpass, grinding through the horrors with Deacon's necrotic blade doing heavy lifting. The fight turned desperate when two Carnifex — scythe-limbed monsters born from transformed Repenters — tore into the party near the docks, dropping both Darren and Azkarith before Darren made a final heroic grapple to lock one down, sacrificing himself so Deacon could land the killing blow. Darren was carried to the Grand Cathedral the next morning, where the miraculously resurrected King Reinhold healed the dead and wounded en masse — including Darren and the boat boy the party had failed to save. The session closed with a political earthquake: Obarn Steelsworn, the party's Repenter overseer, was announced as the new High Apostle of the city following the death of High Apostle Tullio during the Eclipse.”
